International Study Week, Croatia
In summer 2016 the HPP co-organised the 19th International Dominican Study Week and Conference in collaboration with The Croatian Dominican Province, the Centre of Excellence for Integrative Bioethics ( University of Zagreb) and the Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion (University of Oxford).
The International Dominican Study Week is an opportunity for students of philosophy and theology to spend a week on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, furthering their studies alongside friars of the Order of Preachers. Those teaching at the study week this year included HPP organisers Ralph Weir, Samuel Hughes and Mikolaj Slawkowski-Rode as well as Marija Selak (University of Zagreb) and Benedikt Paul Göcke (Ruhr-Universität Bochum). The topic of the 2016 Summer School was Rationality and the Problem of Evil. The Summer School was followed by a conference including talks by teachers at the Summer School, and invited speakers.
