Mikołaj Sławkowski-Rode (Founding Organiser)
Mikołaj Sławkowski-Rode is a Research Fellow in philosophy at Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford, and Assistant Professor at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Warsaw. His PhD thesis The Experience of Finitude: Death and Otherness was nominated for the Ministerial Prize for the best research undertaken nationwide in 2016. His book, The Meaning of Mourning was published by Roman and Littlefield in 2023. He has also written about his research for popular outlets including the New York Times.
Ralph Stefan Weir (Founding Organiser)
Ralph Weir is Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Lincoln. His book, The Mind-Body Problem and Metaphysics was published by Routledge in 2023. His recent academic publications include 'Can a Post-Galilean Science of Consciousness Avoid Substance Dualism?’ (Journal of Consciousness Studies), ‘Bring Back Substances!’ (Review of Metaphysics) and 'The Personal Identity Dilemma for Transhumanism (Philosophy). He has written about aesthetics for Works in Progress, and AI for Psychology Today.

Matija Vigato (Senior Research Associate)
Matija Vigato is a teaching and research assistant at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. In addition to her postgraduate studies in philosophy, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in applied computer engineering. During her studies, she was awarded the Generation Google Scholarship and undertook a research fellowship semester at the University of Oxford. Her primary areas of interest lie in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind.


Samuel Hughes (Senior Organiser)
Samuel Hughes is an Editor at Works in Progress. He was previously a Post-Doctoral Fellow on the New Horizons for Science and Religion in Central and Eastern Europe project at the Oxford Theology Faculty, and has taught on the Philosophy MA programme of the University of Buckingham. He took a B.A. and a B.Phil. at Lincoln College, Oxford, as well as working as a visiting research student at the University of Tokyo and the Humboldt University of Berlin.
