Colloquium, 18th November: Moral Persons & Legal Rights

A morning jurisprudence colloquium on 'Moral Persons & Legal Rights' will take place on 18th November between 9:15 and Noon, in the Aula of Blackfriars, Oxford.

This event is the first of a series, co-sponsored by the Humane Philosophy Project and the journal Politics & Poetics.

This event will comprise:

  • Dominic Burbidge (Programme for the Foundations of Law & Constitutional Government, Oxford) on 'The trust gap in Europe and its imagined juridical solution'

  • Paul Yowell (Law fellow, Oriel) on 'Human rights as legal rights?'

  • Seminar led by editors of Politics & Poetics on 'How should it matter to positive law that we are moral persons?'
